"The miracle is not to walk on water, the miracle is to walk on the green earth, dwelling deeply in the present moment and feeling truly alive" Thich Nhat Hanh.
Nichole came to yoga on a whim. There was a gap in her college schedule, so she decided to try it. Therein began a lifelong love. A year later when her family moved north, she immediately looked for yoga and was delighted to find Yoga Mendocino was about to begin a year-long 200-hour teacher training with Mary Prafford and Maggie Norton among other great teachers, such as Tias Little and Baxter Bell. She signed-up and later that same year also embarked on an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Chronic Pain class where she realized that we cannot heal what we do not first acknowledge. Upon completion she immediately began to teach classes while exploring various styles that she would meld to come up with her own approach.
After many years, it felt like something was missing. Nichole had experienced, firsthand, the transformative and healing power of yoga in her own life (backpain, food-issues, anxiety, anger and later fertility) and wanted to learn the how and why, so she could extend that to others living with chronic conditions, injuries, trauma, addiction or anxiety that might not come to a regular class or who wanted a more holistic and individualized approach to person healing and growth or an adjunct to western medicine. After several years search, she decided on Niroga. Nichole completed an Advanced Teacher Training in Yoga Therapeutics and continued onward for another year to complete a two-year, 800-hour, Certified Yoga Therapist Training.
Nichole has since worked with hundreds of clients, delivered many successful workshops, retreats, partnered with non-profits, hospitals, vet centers yoga studios, gym, churches, community centers, taught mediation at the library, outdoor classes through the park and recreation, and provided trainings for several teacher training programs.
